The hard copy of your thesis, along with a signed Thesis Approval form , must be submitted to the Honors Program no later than the last day of classes of the semester in which you will graduate. Students in the sciences should have confirmed a place in a lab by the start of their junior year while students in the humanities or social sciences might not begin their thesis until the fall of their senior year. This is a final draft that has been approved by both your thesis supervisor and your Honors advisor, so plan ahead for revisions and any earlier deadlines they may set. If you submitted paperwork with all of the correct signatures and completed all of the necessary requirements for a conversion , then the notation may not have been posted yet. This information, along with your thesis title and abstract, will be included in your Honors Thesis Plan by your final semester, but you should establish this relationship much further in advance. Your Honors thesis represents the culmination of your Honors academic career. Ideally, within the first two years you should begin to think about the general areas that interest you and strive to form relationships with faculty mentors.

Your advisor may be busy when you need a last-minute signature. Submit your proposal for an Honors Event here. Depending on your major and your academic and professional plans, your thesis may consist of a traditional research project, piece of scholarshipor a creative product.

New:Honors Scholar 2018 & Later

Thesis Overview | UConn Honors Program

You should meet with your advisor before each registration period to discuss your schedule and the upcoming semester. They will prepare event reflections and submit them through Portfolium. If you submitted paperwork with all of the correct signatures and completed all of the necessary requirements for a conversionthen the notation may not have been posted yet.

These thdsis may be through independent study or some other course in your major; you and your Honors advisor will designate your thesis credits on your Honors Scholar Preliminary and Final Plans of Study. Your Honors thesis represents the culmination of your Honors academic career.
